Getting started and common questions
Installation
Install the Merchant Migrate plugin from WordPress.org or upload the zip file through
Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin in your WordPress admin.
Activate the plugin after installation.
Setup: Google OAuth Credentials
Before using the plugin, you need to create OAuth credentials in the Google Cloud Console:
- Go to Google Cloud Console → APIs & Services → Credentials
- Create an OAuth 2.0 Client ID (Web application type)
- Add your WordPress site URL as an authorized redirect URI
- Enable the Content API for Shopping and Merchant API in your project
- Copy the Client ID and Client Secret into the plugin settings page
Connecting Your Account
Go to WooCommerce → Merchant Migrate in your WordPress admin.
Click Connect Google Account and authorize access. Select the Merchant Center
account you want to audit.
Running the Audit
Once connected, click Run Audit to scan your Merchant Center feeds.
The audit checks:
- Feed labels — Detects labels that need remapping for the Merchant API
- Price formats — Validates currency and price formatting across feeds
- Supplemental feeds — Identifies supplemental feeds that need reconnection
- Health score — Calculates an overall migration readiness score
Using the Migration Wizard (Pro)
With a Pro license, the migration wizard walks you through each issue step by step:
- Label remapping — Automatically maps old labels to new Merchant API format
- Price validation — Checks and corrects price format differences
- Supplemental reconnection — Reconnects supplemental feeds to the new API
- CSV export — Export a summary of all changes for your records
Troubleshooting
- OAuth error: Make sure your OAuth credentials are correct and the redirect URI matches your site URL exactly.
- API permissions: Ensure both the Content API for Shopping and Merchant API are enabled in your Google Cloud project.
- No Merchant Center found: The Google account you connected may not have access to a Merchant Center. Check that you're using the correct Google account.
- Audit fails to load: Check that your server can make outbound HTTPS requests to Google APIs. Some hosting providers block outgoing connections.
